A rose so beautiful as the Lovelace+ deserves a starring role in an arrangement. A design by Pim van den Akker.
The Lovelace+ is a soft pink rose with a hint of lilac, which gives it the feel of a true heritage rose. Perfect for a chic flower arrangement like this one.
Lovelace+ by Arend Roses, Ammi majus, large and small dried fruits, OASIS floral foam, wicker, clear adhesive tape, extra sticks, thread and a glass bowl
HOW TO MAKE
Keep tools like knives, scissors, a hot glue gun, needle and thread within reach.
Since hot glue won’t stick to glass, you’ll need to wrap two pieces of clear adhesive tape around the outside of the glass bowl. The tape will hold the hot glue. You could glue each piece of wicker on separately but there’s a much easier way: tightly line up the pieces of wicker on a table and make sure you have enough to cover the glass bowl all around. For a more playful result use different lengths of wicker. Temporarily tape the string of wicker together by placing two pieces of tape over the whole length. Turn the string upside down and apply a generous amount of hot glue on the other side. Roll in the glass bowl and let the glue dry. Carefully remove the tape that’s still on the outside.
Cut to size and place the well-soaked OASIS floral foam into the bowl. Add extra water to ensure the flowers have plenty. Cut the stems of the Lovelace+ roses with a sharp knife in a 45 degrees angle, so they can hydrate as much as necessary. Place them in the floral foam. Give the Ammi majus a clean cut as well and add them in between the roses.
Make a string of the small dried fruits by piercing the fruits carefully and threading them. Pin the larger dried fruits on a stick and place them in between the flowers. Drape the string of dried fruits carefully on top of the flowers.
Et voila: a beautiful and elegant flower arrangement with delicate colors for you to enjoy!
