Roos van Unen uses some simple materials to create a cool and fresh design in which the beautiful Anthurium 'Adios® Romance' of Fuerte Planta is complemented.
MATERIALS
A transparent high round vase, wallpaper, Anthurium 'Adios® Romance'
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?
Keep tools like knives, scissors and a hot glue gun within reach. A paper cutter is optional.
Step 1:
Take the wallpaper and wind it around the glass vase to get the right dimensions. Cut off enough wallpaper, so it can easily be wrapped around the vase later. Cut the wallpaper into strips. To work fast and neatly, you can use a paper cutter.
Step 2:
Create a framework by placing strips on top of each other and weaving some together. Make the framework a little bit more interesting by creating squares and rectangles in different sizes. Glue the strips together with hot glue.
Step 3:
Wrap the framework around the vase and glue the ends together. Do not glue the wallpaper framework to the transparent vase. This way the framework becomes a casing which can easily be slid off the vase and used for something else.
Step 4:
Take the Anthurium 'Adios® Romance' out of the pot and place it in the vase. The roots of the Anthurium will show through the transparent vase and the entire design gets a fresh style due to the white wallpaper. To get a more edgy result, you can use wallpaper with different colours and patterns.
Done! A fresh-looking result for you and your customer to enjoy!
